KEOTA-Mary Lou Farlow, age 74, of Keota, died Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.

Mary was born August 1, 1945, near Moberly, Missouri, to James and Barbara (Sharon) Apel. On May 8, 1964, she married John W. Farlow in Missouri. They lived in Missouri until moving to Keota in 1978. Mary worked at Modine in Washington for 18 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Conway Twitty Club and enjoyed going on vacations, being with family and her grandbabies and great grandbabies.

Survivors include her husband: John; five children: Linda (Jim) Bringman of Mason City, Brenda (James) Warren of Keota, Bill (Karmel) Farlow of Puyallup, Washington, Connie (Jeff) Bowen of Keota and John Farlow of Oskaloosa; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two brothers: Richard Apel and George Apel and two sisters: Goldie Wilson and Laura Faye. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Charlie Apel and Arnold Apel and one sister: Barbara Parrish.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Pastor Jim Bringman officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the funeral home.
