They settled on a part of the farm deeded to her jointly with her sister Phoebe Counts Hay by their brother/in-law Abednego Kiser. After a few years, they moved to a 275 acre tract on the head of pound river in wise county (Wise County deed book 5–409). On 4/4/1881, they sold their interest in the Dickenson County property (deed book Dickenson County 1-57). About 1888, they sold their Wise county property and moved to Lincoln County West Virginia.
