Alice W. Hartman of Clyde Park, MT passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the age of 75.

Alice was born on January 18, 1944 in Livingston, MT. She grew up living in Livingston, Clyde Park, Wilsall and Ringling, MT. While growing up she babysat, worked on ranches and other odd jobs. Alice finished high school in Bozeman while working as a waitress. After high school she worked as a C.N.A. in Bozeman. It was during that time she met and married John Max Hartman in 1970 and lived just outside of Livingston on Slaughter Creek until 1976 when they moved and settled in Clyde Park.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, John Max Hartman and is survived by her sons, John Jacob (wife Melanie), Jeremiah J. Hartman, and her grandson, Dylan R. Hartman. Alice was also preceded in death by her siblings, Curtis and Melissa, and survived by siblings, Donna, Francis, Dean and James Walden, with many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Alice was involved throughout her life in the Park County community including 4-H leader, 4-H kitchen leader, Livingston Roundup Association volunteer, Park County Refuse Board, Clyde Park Town Council and Mayor, Bible schoolteacher and volunteering and helping with many other organizations with her time, food, and donations.

After her children were in school, she began working at the Frontier Retirement Home for many years. She then went on to nursing school to continue her career in helping others by working as a nurse at the Park Clinic until she retired in 2008 due to her health. She continued caring for husband that was in poor health until his passing in 2015. Alice cared about and loved many people she came to know in her life, as well as, her patients and co-workers and in return many cared about and loved her.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Livingston, MT for all her family and friends to celebrate Alice’s life. There will be a coffee hour following the service.

As to Alice’s final wishes (season of passing on) burial services will be set for a later date and she will be laid to rest at Short Hill Cemetery beside her husband.
