Harry Fischer - Passed away, peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Betty (nee Brears) Fischer for 55 years. Loving father of Denise Fischer (Edward Adlys) of Kitchener and Karen Ostrander (David) of Waterloo. Dear grandpa to Rachel and Michael Ostrander. Dear brother of Sally Beaupre of Kitchener and Sister Aloysia Fischer of Hamilton. Harry will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Matilda (nee Durrer) Fischer, brother Elmer Fischer, sisters Sister St. Maurice Fischer, Leola Buckle, Florence Bender and Kathleen Fischer.

Harry was a member St. Anne's R.C. Church and the Knight of Columbus, Kitchener Council #1504. In his retirement, Harry enjoyed golf, wintering in Florida, and trips to Europe.

Harry's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. Parish prayers at 2 pm Friday afternoon. Knights of Columbus prayer service 6:45 pm Friday evening. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 am Saturday, May 30, 2009, followed by procession to St. Anne's R.C. Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener for a Funeral Mass at 10 am. Fr. Mark Sullivan officiating.

Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau followed by a reception at the Henry Walser Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of K-W or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
