Georgina Alonso Dingell of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She was born in Havana, Cuba and is preceded in death by her parents Manuel Alonso and Georgina Zayas-Bazan, and her brother Manuel Rogerio Alonso.
Beloved wife of 34 years to Dr. James V. Dingell; devoted mother of Michael F. Dingell, James V. Dingell, Jr. and wife Dana, and Ann-Eve Cunningham; sister of Leopoldo and Andres Alonso; grandmother to James V. Dingell, III, Trevor Frye, and Jason Frye; loving aunt to Marisa (Ahmadi), Vivian, Emilio, Manuel, Andrea and Leopoldo C. Alonso and numerous other nieces and nephews; Great aunt to Emilio and Gabriel Alonso, and Leopoldo (Alonso) Ahmadi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 Wolftrap Road, Vienna, Virginia.
