She was born on the family farm in Wells County, Silver Lake Township, rural Robinson, ND, the daughter of John and Lydia (Aichele) Weippert. She married Ervin Gartner on Feb 22nd, 1940,at Steele, North Dakota. They farmed at Tuttle, ND. until 1953 then moved to Sykeston, North Dakota, then to Chicago, Ill. in 1968 and back to Sykeston in 1979. He died in 1984.

Survivors are a son Ervin J.(Cathy), Chicago; two daughters Lucille (Duane) Eckman, Ozark, Mo.; and Dorothy (Rick) Hubbard, Chicago, five sisters Ruby, Hilda, Darlene, Judith and Linda; five brothers, Jonathan, Eugene, Wilbert, Clarence and Edward. Seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death were her husband; a daughter Beverly Hubbard; her parents; four brothers Albert, Reinhold, Emil and David; and four sisters Bertha, Eldena, Ellen, and Leah.

CARRINGTON - Lorraine Gartner, 90, Carrington, died July 19, 2007, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Golden Acres Manor Chapel, Carrington. Interment will be held at 3:45 p.m. in Tuttle Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Ervin, Chicago; two daughters, Lucille Eckman, Ozark, Mo., Dorothy Hubbard, Chicago; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ruby Aichele, St. Croix, Wis., Hilda Rodacker, Harvey, Darlean Pierce, Fargo, Judith Aipperspach, Langdon, and Linda King, Grand Forks; and five brothers, Jonathan Weippert, Jamestown, Eugene Weippert, Steele, Wilbert Weippert, Hendrum, Minn., Clarence Weippert, Ada, Minn., and Edward Weippert, Columbus.
