Allen F. Dinkel, 74, Ellis, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in Wakeeney, Kansas. He was born July 12, 1933, on a farm in Trego County, Kansas, to Nick and Leoba (Geist) Dinkel.

He married Iona Kinderknecht on Nov. 15, 1954, in Ellis, Kansas. She survives.

He was a U.S. Marine. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ellis.

Survivors include three sons, Nick Dinkel, Denver, CO, Andy Dinkel, Ellis, KS, and Edward Dinkel, Lenexa, KS; five daughters, LeAnn Rineberg, Silver Lake, KS, Lori Leiker, Hays, KS, Dana George, Wichita, KS, Janelle Schuster, Topeka, KS, and Marlene Dinkel, Wakeeney, KS; seven brothers, LaVern Dinkel, Highland Ranch, CO, Kenneth and LeRoy Dinkel, both of Denver, CO, Larry Dinkel, Henderson, NV, Verlin Dinkel, Las Vegas, NV, Pat Dinkel, Broomfield, CO, and Paul Dinkel, Stillwell, OK; three sisters, Mary Ann Legleiter, Liebenthal, ZKS, Florence Honas, Chanute, KS, and Bernice Klaus, Salina, KS; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral was July 20, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis, Kansas, with burial in the church cemetery.
