He was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Ellis.
Mr. Dinkel retired from the Air Force in 1978 and had lived in Topeka the past 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Laurita Mae Dinkel, of the home; two daughters, Jacqueline Mae Schufelberger, Topeka, and Judith Marie Dinkel, Oklahoma City; nine brothers, Mark, LaVern, Kenneth, LeRoy and Patrick, all of Denver, Allen, of Ellis, Verlin and Larry, both of Las Vegas, and Paul, Stillwell, Okla.; three sisters, Mary Ann Legleiter, Liebenthal, Florence Honas, Chanute, and Bernice Klaus, Salina; and two grandchildren.
Marvin was a devout member of Assumption Catholic Church, the American Legion and Topeka Genealogical Society of Topeka. He was a life member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, life member of Disabled American Veterans and National Association of Belt Buckle Collectors, Inc. Marvin Dinkel was the lead family researcher and genealogist for the Dinkel families and all those connected to them. His work and contribution to the history of all the families continues on today.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Verlin Dinkel and an infant daughter.
