Calvin Morgan, 92, of Tiffin, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, in Tiffin.

Calvin was born to Genevieve Starr Morgan and Calvin Price Aug. 28, 1927, in Toledo. On Aug. 19, 1950, Calvin married Joan Catherine Gurney at Washington Street United Methodist Church, Tiffin. They renewed their vows, in 1962, in the Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Joan Morgan of Tiffin; three sons, Michael Calvin (Debra) Morgan of Tiffin, Mark Anthony (Jane) Morgan of Tiffin and David Wade (Lynn) Morgan of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a daughter, Penny Starr (David) Morgan of Port Clinton; five grandchildren, Heidi, Michael (Debbie), Christopher (Emily), Lindsay (Herb) and Jeremy (Angela); seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Rush Alford, Jr.

Calvin was a Merchant Marine in World II in Italy at the age of 17 and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Calvin was a machinist by trade and worked for National Machinery in Tiffin, Hughes Aircraft in Tucson, Arizona and McDonnell Douglas in San Diego, California. He then moved his family north to Newport Beach working for Cadillac Controls. Calvin finished his career with Trabon Lubriquip in Cleveland.

Calvin was a life member of VFW Post 2858, DAV, and American Legion Post 169. He was actively involved in the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 172 in Findlay. He was a proud american and was honored to serve his country.

Calvin was a devoted husband and father and cherished his time with his family. Calvin loved life and felt blessed for each day. His favorite past times were roller skating, shooting pool, and bowling.

He had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel and explore different places, traveling often with his wife and family throughout the states. Calvin’s contagious smile, welcoming blue eyes and gentle soul will be forever missed by his family.

Friends may visit with the family 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.

His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Mammen officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
