Television Music Composer. He is best know for composing the eerie theme and background music for the supernaturally themed 1960s soap opera "Dark Shadows" (1966 to 1971). He studied composing and conducting at the Juilliard College and later Columbia University, before performing as a saxophonist and clarinetist on the New York night club circuit. He got his start in television with the programs "To Tell The Truth" and "The Price Is Right", prior to the horror series "Way Out" (1961). In addition to "Dark Shadows" Cobert collaborated with Dan Curtis on the series "The Night Stalker" and "War and Remembrance" (1988) which earned him an Emmy Award nomination.
