Joseph John Chiste, 85, of Summerfield, FL, died January 17, 2020 at The Villages Hospital.

He was born on March 28, 1934 in East St. Louis, MO, son of Vitale and Giselle Chiste. He and his wife, Jo Ann, were married in Ladue, MO on March 21, 1987.

Chiste served in the US Army during the Korean War from December 1954-December 1956 and retired from Boeing after 37 years of service.

Joe was a member of the Community United Methodist Church and loved building and remodeling which he enjoyed for much of his life.

Survivors include his wife, daughters, Cindy Burdick, Annette Driefke; stepson, Jo David Cummins; seven grandchildren, Cade Cummins, Gage Cummins, Adam Burdick, Rachel Jung, Alex Driefke, Melody Driefke, Shelby Driefke; two great grandchildren, Mason Cummins and Madison Cummins; brother Jim Chiste and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Chiste and his sister, Adrian Monaghan.

The memorial service will be held at Community United Methodist Church, Fruitland Park, FL on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 am.

The graveside service will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 1:30 pm.
