Mr. Aloys (Al) Hagel, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean Hagel of Calgary, passed away at the Holy Cross Hospital on January 27, 1987 at the age of 70 years. Besides his loving wife, Mr. Hagel is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Barb of Salmon Arm, B.C. and Ernie and Leah of Calgary; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bev and Rick Thomas of Killam and Donna and Allan Till of Airdrie; eight grandchildren; six brothers and sisters-in-law. Matt and Mac, Felix and Pansy, Manny and Ruby and Albert and Theresa, all of Calgary; Joe and Doreen of Beiseker and Lawrence and Joyce of Kelowna and four sisters, Marie and her husband Henry Funk, Margaret and her husband Bill Saunders and Rose Mattern, all of Calgary and Julia and her husband Bill Perks of Three Hills. Born in Beiseker, Alberta, Mr. Hagel resided and farmed there for many years. In 1966 he was appointed an agent for Alberta Hail and Crop Insurance, later becoming a crop adjuster. In 1971 he moved to Calgary where he was employed with Canada Safeway until his retirement in 1981. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place N.W.) on Thursday, January 29, 1987 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place N.W.) on Friday. January 30, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. William Trienekens, Celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Joseph's Section, Queen's Park Cemetery.
