4075 Private J (or Frank) Brandon, 1st Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Served in South Africa during the Second Anglo Boer War 1899-1902. Died aged 25 years and 4 months from a fracture of the spine/paralysis following an accident at the railway hospital, De Aar, Northern Cape, South Africa. He is also commemorated (as Pte F Brandon) on the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment Boer War memorial in Avenham Park, Preston, Lancashire, England (see War Memorials Online Reference WMO165853).
