NEW MADRID — Services for Miss Linda Stewart, 89, who died Friday, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Richards Funeral Home by the Rev. Claude Stayton, pastor of the Presbyeteian Church. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Born Jan. 10, 1886 in New Madrid County, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Ella Maudy Stewart. A life-long county resident, she had lived in New Madrid for many years and was a long-time saleswoman at Hunter Hardware Co. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, which she had served in several capacities.

Survivors include one niece, Mrs. Dora Hill of Sikeston, and three nephews, James Albach of Macon, Robert Albach of Webster Groves and Tommy Lee of Portageville.
