Charles Lyon

Charles Lyon, who died last week Tuesday at his home in Lyndon after an illness of several weeks, was born June 13, 1849, in Holland where he spent his younger days. For several years he lived in Island Pond, being a conductor on the Grand Trunk railroad. About 25 years ago he came to this town where he has since lived. Until about 12 years ago he was a brakeman on the railroad. For a number of years past he has had the work of loading the sand cars for the railroad. Mr. Lyon was three times married. About 14 years ago he married Hattie Houghton Kidder who survives him with one child, Prescott. A daughter, Mrs. S. S. McDowell, by his first wife, also survives him. The funeral was held Friday at 2 p. m., Rev. J. J. Hutchinson officiating. The bearers were S. S. McDowell, Aaron Amidon, Gene Stone, Don Farrar. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Interment at Lyndon Center.
