Obituary
John Halagian passed away peacefully in his W. Bloomfield home on March 28, 2018. Born in Highland Park, MI on August 12, 1928, he was the son of Peter and Mary (Postoian) Halagian. Raised in a warm Armenian community, he enjoyed playing in the high school football and basketball teams, and later played softball for St. Sarkis.
He met Ann Altounian and they were married in 1952. Becoming a dedicated and hard working husband and father, the family spent many hours together going camping with their motor home and having family picnics with their relatives and friends. John loved to play cards and even continued playing cards up to the very last days of his life.
John was active in the community as a loyal and supporting member of the AYF and ARF, traveling many times with the youngsters to the happy AYF Olympics weekends, where John was always noted for his festive dancing to the historic Armenian dance music.
