Obituary: Earl N. Henry, 94, of 109 Sadsbury Ave., Christiana, died Wednesday at Community Hospital of Lancaster after a brief illness. Henry retired from Octorara Area School District, where he worked in the maintenance department. He previously managed mushroom houses for the late Harry Chandler of Christiana and managed the former Charles B. Silver’s Cannery, Christiana. He was a life member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics. An Army Air Forces veteran, he served during World War II and was a member of Christiana American Legion Post 865. He was past president and a 49-year member of Christiana Lions Club and member of Eastern Lancaster County Rod & Gun Club. Born in Salisbury Township, he was the son of the late James S. and Eva Mae Berkey Henry. His wife, Dorothy V. Snyder Henry, died in 1974. Surviving are two brothers, Wayne, husband of Marie Little Henry, and Roy S., husband of Betty Roop Henry, both of Christiana; and two sisters, Inez M. Groff of Lancaster and Reba E. wife of Lester Fichtner of Bart. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Wilmer, Harold, Raymond, Ralph, Thomas, George, and Walter, and a sister, Verna H. Summers.
