Irene Barksdale, 95, died March 7, 2020, at Aurora Health and Rehabilitation. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Piney Grove M.B. Church, with Michael Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from noon-6 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Barksdale was born July 10, 1924, in Columbus, to the late Major and Magnolia Lang. She was a member of Piney Grove M.B. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamisse Barksdale; children, Albert J. Barksdale and Ida Mae Barksdale; and siblings, Jim Lang, Fred Lang, Walter Thomas, Major Lang, Jr., Belton Lang and Mary Lang.
