R.C. Muirhead, 89, of Sidon, MS, died Friday, March 6, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vaiden Cemetery in Carroll County, MS, with visitation 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS. Rev. David Bartlett will officiate.
He was born June 26, 1930 in Vaiden, MS, to Robert Jefferson Muirhead and Clara Taylor Muirhead. He was a welder at S & N Sprayer before retiring. He was of the Baptist faith, and he liked the outdoors including hunting and gardening. He is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Knighton Muirhead, and his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by three sons, Douglas Muirhead of Sidon, MS, Jerry Muirhead (Suzy) of Sidon, MS, and Kenny Muirhead of Sidon, MS; two daughters, Elaine Light of Memphis, TN, and Carolyn Herrington (Tony) of Warner Robbins, GA; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chip Upchurch, Austin Richardson, Tony Herrington, Tim Vancura, Rufus Muirhead, and Tony Aldy.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
