Decedent was born in Erbenheim, Nassaua, Germany, Jan. 9, 1834. her maiden name was Sophia Hagerdorn. At the age of 20 years she came to America and settled at Cape Jerida, Mo., where she married Nicholas Ritter March 22, 1856. In 1857 the family moved to Springfield and decedent resided continually for fifty-one years in the home where she died.
Decedent is survived by the following children: Edward F., William F., George H., Joplin, Mo.; Charles G. and Henry of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Frank Thompson of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Boss, Mrs. August Kessberger and Mrs. Max Teulemeyer, all of Springfield.
