Virgil Curtis, 82, a pioneer of the Centralia District, died Tuesday in a local hospital. Mr. Curtis was born September 11, 1877 in Taylor County, Iowa and came to Centralia in 1888 with his parents Samuel and Mary Emma Curtis.
Survivors include his widow, Gladys E. at home; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Hollingsworth, Sedro Woolley, Miss Mary E. Curtis, Centralia; three sons, Gilbert V., Chehalis; Ralph R., Centralia, and Homer R. Curtis, East Helena, Montana; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Newell-Hoerling's, Centralia, with the Rev. Roger Gillerstrom officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View.
