After graduation from high school, she went on to Georgian Court Girls College and eventually got her teaching certificate from Glassboro State College. In addition to being a member of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, she was a very active and supportive member of the Salem County Chapter of NAMI.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine "Candy" Patterson and her husband Rick of Carneys Point, her sons, John C., Robert M. and James T. Brandt all from Carney's Point, six grandchildren, Johnny Brandt, Mary Tobin, Jill Clemente, Andrea C. Patterson, Ricky and Michael Patterson as well as six great grandchildren. Her husband Charles, a daughter Loretta B. Clemente, and two sisters, Margie Tobin and Florence Dilorenzo predeceased her.
A Mass of Christain Burial will be said on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 11 am at the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 369 Georgtown Rd., Carneys Point.
The viewing for Mrs. Brandt will be held prior to mass at the church starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Swedesboro.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in Mary's memory to the Salem County Chapter of NAMI, 502 Whig Lane, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098. Throughout her life the two things that always remained important to Mary was her family, whom she loved and adored, and all the children that she came into contact with during her years of teaching.
