Mark C. Case, of McMinnville died Monday, May 12, 2003 in McMinnville, he was 90. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 16 at 2:00pm at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.
The son of Harold Grove and Carrie Cummings Case was born on August 22, 1912 in Silverton, OR. He was raised in Portland and attended Benson High School. After high school he attended O.I.T. After school, he went to work for Griffith Rubber Mills as a machinist. He married Lois "Jean" Pettey on September 20, 1940 in Portland, OR. He enlisted in the US Army in 1944 and served in Northern France and Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received at the Battle of the Bulge and was honorably discharged in 1945. Following his discharge, he returned to Beaverton. While in Beaverton he was the builder and owner/operator of Beaverton Bowl from 1956-1976. He was also a homebuilder. In 1976 he retired and moved to Beaver, OR where he resided until moving to McMinnville in 1990. He was a Life Member of the Beaverton VFW Post #4617.
He is survived by his wife Lois "Jean" Case of McMinnville; son Steven and daughter-in-law Judy Case of Gaston, OR; grandchildren, Konnie, Ken, Deneen, Cynthia and Erin; nephew and niece Joe and Joan Cleary of Dundee, OR; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ray and Edith Pettey of Salem, OR; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Glen and Doris Anderson of Ridgefield, WA; grand nephew and niece Dr. Tim and Barbara Cleary of Portland, OR; grand nephew Patrick Case Cleary of Alta Loma, CA and grand niece Maureen Lee Cleary of Portland and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
