She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late John Robert and Annie Horton Medlin.
Mrs. Alford is survived by her children, Gladys Honeycutt of Wendell; Wilma Woodard of Raleigh; Ann "Lib" Curtis of Wendell; Grace Tutor of Wendell; John C. "Buck" Alford of Raleigh; and Ed Alford of Rolesville; a sister, Helen Marshburn of Morrisville; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 66 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Luke Alford and three children, Lois Honeycutt, Leamon Alford and Herman Alford.
The funeral service was held Jan. 21 at Central Baptist Church. Entombment followed in the church cemetery....
