Abraham Holland, an old resident of East Catasauqua, died at the resident of his son, Jeremiah, Sunday week, aged 78 years. He is survived by his wife, and several sons and daughters. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon. Rev. J.F. Lambert officiating. Interment was made in Mickley's Cemetery in Whitehall Township.
Abraham actually died in Upper Nazareth Township in the alms house but the above death record indicated he died at the home of his son. The below article appeared in the Easton Daily Free Press:
Abraham Holland, 78 years of age, died at the county poorhouse Sunday morning at 10 o'clock of general debility. He had lived at the almshouse for eighteen years. Deceased has three sons at Catasauqua, who will take charge of the remains.
