San Francisco Chronicle, Thursday, September 16, 1920:

"Edward Baker, 52 years old, a watchman for the Southern Pacific Railroad, was killed instantly early yesterday, when struck by a freight train on the Army Street trestle. The engineer said he did not see the watchman on the tracks until too late. Baker was unmarried and lived at 427 Ninth Street."

He was a widower.
