***Jesse Davenport Services Monday***
Jesse Bohannon Davenport, 63, of Antlers, passed away on July 12, 1996, at his home in Antlers. He was born on November 26, 1932 in Finley, to George Davenport and Ruth (Walker) Davenport.
He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956, attaining the rank of sergeant, prior to his discharge, and entering the reserves. He later met and married Renee Paulette Tomasini on January 19, 1964, in Atoka. Retiring after 30 years, from his work with the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture, he worked for Miller Office Equipment in Antlers.
Survivors include: his wife, Paulette, of the home; three stepchildren, Mickey Hendrix of Palmdale, California; Lynda Hendrix of Burbank, California; and Terry Paul Hendrix of Kingfisher; four sisters, Lavena Caraway of Antlers; Georgia Hammons of Finley; Billie Kathryn Sherred of Farmington, New Mexico; and Betty Sue Manous of Irving, Texas. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Monday, July 15, 1996, at 3 pm in the Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Antlers. Rev. Andy Reed officiated the service.
Honorary pallbearers were: Brad Miller, David Payne, Jerry Don Johnson, Toby Winningham, Larry Labit, Terry Dean Miller and Dewey John Hatcher.
