Ruth Josephine Darcy - Zumbrota
Zumbrota - A funeral Mass for Ruth Josephine Darcy, 92, of Zumbrota, will be 10:30a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester, with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She died Friday (July 27, 2001) at Zumbrota Nursing Home. Born March 6, 1909, in Chester Township, Wabasha County, she attened St. Mary's Parochial School in Bellechester and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1927. She was employed in Minneapolis as a seamstress, and also worked for the May Co. in California and Colorado as a sales clerk and seamstress. In 1970, she returned to Minneapolis and lived there until moving to Zumbrota in 1999. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing and current affairs. Survivors include a son, Mike (Naomi Sandra) Ornstein of Madison, WI., two grandsons; two sister, Margaret Nevinger of Los Angeles and Gertrude Hofschulte of Mazeppa; three brothers, Lawrence (Edna) Darcy and Edwin Darcy, both of Mazeppa; and Joseph Darcy of Zumbrota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ornstein; a sister and two brothers. Freinds may call from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
