Joseph Hugh Darcy, 82, Zumbrota, Died Wednesday at Zumbrota Nursing Home where he lived since Febraury 2000. He was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Chester Township to Edward and Mary (Peters) Darcy. He grew up on the family farm in Bellechester/Mazeppa. He attended parochial school in Bellechester and one year of high school in Mazeppa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the was he returned to the farm for one year. He moved to Minneapolis and worked for 3M Co. and at Dayton/Rodgers. He retired in 1981. Survivors include two sisters, Gertrude Hofschulte of Zumbrota and Margaret Nevinger of Los Angeles; two brothers, Lawrence (Edna) and Edwin both of Mazeppa. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Vincent; and two sisters, Ruth Ornstein and Rosella Riley. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. SAturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bellechester, with Revs. Peter Njoku and Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel, Zumbrota, and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the Church.
