Rosie Lee Winkles Adams was the daughter of James & Ann Brumbalow Adams. She was the granddaughter of William Winkles & Rachel Reno Winkles, as well as William T. Brumbalow and Susan Smith Brumbalow.

Rosie was the youngest of her two sisters - Mary F. (Dunn/Atchley) and Laura Dee (Jones).

She married John Elbert Adams, son of James Thomas & Martha E. Butler Adams, on February 10, 1910, in Madison County, Alabama.

To this union was born thirteen children - four of whom died at birth or early on (buried at Moon). The surviving children were Rachel (Treece), Albert Lonzo "Buddy", Bertie Lorene (Bird), Ruby Nancy (Boyd), James Walter Adams, John Junior Adams, Sammie Ligie, Rosie Virginia (Jones), and William Jasper "Billy".

Rosie Lee Winkles Adams died March 15, 1959, at her residence in Huntsville, Alabama. Her cause of death was chronic myocarditis, due to arteriosclerosis. She also suffered from diabetes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosie Lee Adams, 62, 3301 Alpine St. SW, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Big Cove Holiness Church, with the Rev. Mitchell Drake and the Rev. Paul Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the Moon Cemetery at Owens Cross Roads.
Survivors include three sons, John Adams, Jr. of Opelika, Ala., Albert Adams of Detroit, Mich., and William Adams of National City, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Walter L. Byrd, Mrs. Leroy Boyd and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, all of Huntsville; a sister, Mrs. John Jones of Albertville; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Calvin White, A.C. Edgar, James E. Cowan, William Knight, Billy Caneer and Johnny Green.
Honarary pallbearers will be Dr. Carl A. Grote, Sr., Dr. Carl A. Grote, Jr., Henry Fuss, Billy Stewart and Buddy Simmons.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
