Funeral services for Arthur George Berrett, 62, former Weber County assessor, who died Saturday at his home, 144 Eleventh East Street, will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the Eleventh L.D.S. ward chapel. Bishop George S. McAllister will officiate.
Mr. Berrett was born in North Ogden, June 21, 1873, a son of Robert Griffin and Sarah M. Woodland Berrett. He lived in Ogden until four years ago, when he was transferred to Salt Lake City as an employee of the Utah Power and Light Company.
An active L.D.S. church worker, Mr. Berrett was a member of the high priests’ quorum of the Eleventh L.D.S. ward a member of the tabernacle choir and the Orpheus club, and had served an L.D.S. mission to England in 1908.
Mr. Berrett served as county assessor for Weber County from 1921 until 1927.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ellen Brown Berrett; five sons and daughters, Veda, Dallas A. and Reed P. Berrett, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Jeff Ballif of North Ogden and Ray W. Berrett, Washington D.C. three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Jones, Mrs. William m. Ellis and Mrs. W. p. Spackman, and a brother, Edmund R. Berrett, all of North Ogden.
Additional funeral rites for Mr. Berrett will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in North Ogden. Burial will take place in North Ogden cemetery.
Friends may call at the family residence Wednesday and Thursday prior to services.
