Danilo Aleksandar Petrović-Njegoš was the Crown Prince of Montenegro. He was the eldest son of King Nicholas I of Montenegro and Queen Milena Vukotić. Prince Danilo was married on July 27, 1899 to Duchess Jutta of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the daughter of Adolf Friedrich V, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and his wife Princess Elisabeth of Anhalt, but the marriage was childless. After his renunciation of the Montenegrin throne in 1921, he spent most of his time residing in Nice.
