He married his high school sweetheart, (Living) Moore in 1956. They were the parents of 3 children.
The Cooks enjoyed traveling, even when employed by the Alton Telegraph, Olin Corporation and Alton Box Board. Wayne then worked for Boeing until his retirement.
During their later years, they spent winters each year in Fort Myers, Florida.
At the time of his death, Wayne was 84 years, 10 months and 10 days old.
He was survived by his wife; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law; 1 son and 1 daughter-in-law; and 4 grandchildren.
