Lawrence F. Mack, 94, Minot, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 in a Velva Care center.

Lawrence was born on April 7, 1926, on the family homestead near Karlsruhe, McHenry County, ND, a son of Anton and Katherine (Black) Mack Sr. He was raised and educated in the Karlsruhe area.

Lawrence married Anna Marie Schiele October 13, 1945 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe, ND. They lived on their farm in Voltaire, ND, raising small grains and a small operation of cattle. They later moved to Minot, ND, in 1954 where they remained. Lawrence worked for Hood Corporation until 1968 when he started with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of ND until 1988 when he retired.

Lawrence stayed involved with his farm operations until his death. He was very proud of his farm and the fruition that arose from his many years of hard work. He loved watching the crops be planted in the spring and produce. He really enjoyed harvest time riding alongside Larry, Matt and Josh Schatz whom he admired throughout the years. He really enjoyed their conversations. Lawrence enjoyed keeping up his yard and listening to the birds. Lawrence always had a smile with his signature hand clap and waive. He called everyone “Pal” and always had a good joke to tell. Lawrence was a tough German who was very proud and grateful for his health and to be able to continue to live in his home he shared with his family since 1967, until his admittance to the hospital on April 15th, 2020. Lawrence loved his different vehicles over the years and was especially fond of his Cadillac’s and his cowboy hats.

Our family would like to give a special thank you to Marcy Lester and Cathy Wallace from Visiting Angels; Connie Coleman, Drs and nurses from Trinity Health, nurses and staff from Souris Valley Care Center, and Gary and Janet Hiltner for the care and support for Lawrence.
