Mrs. Grace Carter Grantham, age 101 passed away, Friday afternoon May 1, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Grantham was born September 17, 1918 to the late George L. and Cora Smith Carter in the Wilsonville Community of Coffee County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Crayvon Grantham, a sister Ozelle C. Tanner, a brother Linton Carter and three infant siblings

Mrs. Grantham, a beloved part of the Satilla community, was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was a gracious homemaker who loved sharing her faith and her home with family, friends and neighbors. An excellent cook, she enjoyed preparing meals and desserts and sharing food with anyone who stopped by. For many years, her specialty was divinity candy with pecans.

Kayla Jones of Jacksonville, FL
Chase Grantham and Chan Grantham both of Douglas, GA
10 Great Grandchildren
Several Nieces and Nephews, as well as many friends and her caregivers.

Graveside Services and Interment were held Sunday afternoon, May 3, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Satilla Memorial Gardens with Rev. Walt Deloach, a friend and prayer partner, officiating. Eulogies were
presented by Cray Grantham and Anna Grace Grantham.

Pall bearers for the service were her grandsons, Cray Grantham, Jason Grantham, Josh Grantham, Kory Grantham, Chase Grantham and Chan Grantham.

The hymn “Until Then” was presented at the graveside with violin music by Anna Grace Grantham, and the service closed with “I’ll Fly Away” being played by Anna Grace Grantham on violin and Jake Grantham on mandolin.
