George Howard Banner, 57, native of Castlewood, Va., near St. Paul, died suddenly early Tuesday morning at Squire, W. Va. Mr. Banner had not been ill and had worked his shift in the mines the night before, arriving home before midnight. Death was attributed to cerebral hemorrhage.
He was a member of Bishop Local No. 6025, UMWA.
Survivors include the widow, the former Miss Pearl McReynolds; and a daughter, Anita Joyce the mother, Mrs. Sallie Banner of St. Paul, Russell side; three sisters, Mrs. Will Phillips and Miss Garnet Banner of St. Paul, and Mrs. T. W. (Nell) Henritze of Denver, Colo. He is also survived by a daughter by a former marriage, Miss George Ann Banner of Bluefield.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Seventh Day Adventist church at Squire, W. Va. The Rev. Robert Riley will be assisted by the Rev. W. C. Lane. Burial will be in Grassy Spur Cemetery at Bishop.
