Son of the late Herbert and Jimmie Abercrombie. He had lived in Dawson County since 1985 having moved from Lilburn. He retired from General Motors-Lakewood following 30 years of service. Following his retirement, he currently served on the Dawson County Board of Equalization and was a former Court Bailiff. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a member of Etowah Lodge #222 F & AM, for several years served as a volunteer at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Boling; and brother, James Abercrombie. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Faye Abercrombie, Dawsonville; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Tony Nunnelley, Dawsonville, Karen Boling, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Joseph Youngblood, Justin Youngblood, Jennifer Patterson, Jesse Youngblood, Amy Darling, Ali Robinson; eleven great grandchildren; niece, Tammy Golnek, Lilburn; and nephew, Jose Pineda, Acworth.
