Celebration of Life services for Alma Coon Anderson Been will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery. The family will receive guests this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Alma Coon was born on Nov. 10, 1913 in Young County, Texas, to the late C.D. and Lillie Belle (Miller) Coon. She passed from this life on Dec. 16, 2009 in Lubbock.

Alma graduated from Lamesa High School. She and her husband Forest farmed for many years. After his death, she owned and operated Alma's Restaurant in Plains, Texas. Alma was a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock. Alma's hobbies were sewing and quilting and she loved listening to and singing Gospel music. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Forest Bertram Anderson and Travis Been; daughter, Melva Foister; grandson, David Prince; and nine brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Burl Anderson and wife Debbie of Mansfield, Texas, Gerald Anderson and wife Barbara of Lubbock and Dr. Ernie Anderson and wife Karen of Spring, Texas; daughters, Carol Williams and husband Eddie of San Antonio, Texas and Kathy Gillaspy and husband Bill of Spring, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Nelson Coon and wife Valrie of Seminole, Texas; sister-in-law; Shell Anderson of Lovington, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
