She was of the Baptist faith and had been a resident of McDowell County for most of her life, spending the last 22 years on Burke Mountain.
Survivors include one son, A.B. Absher of Burke Mountain; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, William Mitchell.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bennett-Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Northfork with Rev. Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park at Bluewell. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m.
