Watertown - Alexander Miller, age 89 of Watertown, passed away peacefully at home from lung cancer on Wednesday, May 6th 2020 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Alexander was born May 3, 1931 in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of the late Selvistras and Veronica Kukaitis. Alexander was educated in Scotland and became an electrician there, before moving to America to join two of his sisters, Ella and Bernadette, and their families, in Oakville. He was employed at Heminway and Bartlett's thread factories in Watertown for many years, where he was best known by his nickname, "Scotty". He enjoyed caring for cats, dogs, and wild birds, and maintaining and improving his yard, at his home in Watertown. Alexander had a gift for solving mechanical and electrical problems, and he enjoyed the challenges they posed. He was a genial man who took great pleasure from the simple things in life.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his love and legacy are his wife of 53 years Ellen Miller and his children, Andrew Miller of Watertown and Lisa Miller of Trumbull. He also leaves behind his brothers and sister in law, and nieces and nephews in Scotland, Sweden, Canada and here in the United States they have shared a lifetime of happy memories and provided great comfort and support to him and his family.
Due to the current to governmental restrictions regarding the pandemic, services will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. O’Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville has been honored to assist the Miller family during this difficult time. Interment - Mount Olivet Cemetery, 699 Platt Rd, Watertown, CT 06795.
