Mrs. Sophia Pettit, aged 71 years, died at 7:00 a.m. Saturday (October 7, 1911) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. N. Harris on Dewey avenue from dropsy. Mrs. Pettit has long been a resident of East End and was well liked by all with whom she came in contact.
Funeral services will be held from the late home at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. E. P. Wise of he First Christian church officiating. At 4:00 o'clock the body will be shipped on the H. K. Bedford for Parkersburg, W. Va., where interment will be made Wednesday afternoon.
