Farmer, aged 70; late of "Taukoro," Wanganui. Son of Elizabeth and Alexander Montgomerie. Siblings included 2 brothers and 6 sisters, among them - Hew Winton, John Eglinton, Jack, and Sybil Susannah.

The friends of Mr and Mrs R. A. Montgomerie, of “Taukoro,” Parapara Road, who, with their family, went to England for war service a few months ago, will be interested to hear that Mr Montgomerie has received a commission in the Motor Transport Service, and is now in training. His second son, Seton, is in training with the Artists’ Rifles Officers’ Training Corps, and his eldest son, Oswald, who was laid up and had to be operated on for appendicitis, has now sufficiently recovered to join the Royal Flying Corps. Miss Winifred Montgomerie is engaged in work at the New Zealand Soldiers' Club in London, and, as soon as she has placed her youngest daughter at school, it is Mrs Montgomerie’s intention to also join the staff of the same club. LONDON, 8th August. Lieutenant R. Oswald Montgomerie, R.A.F. (Wanganui), who has been on light duty in England for some time, is now going out to Egypt. His brother, Lieutenant H. Seton Montgomerie, who was in the Sherwood Foresters before joining the R.A.F., and was wounded in April last, has returned to duty. Their father, Mr. R. A. Montgomerie, was for some time in the A.S.C., but has been for the past fifteen months in the Timber Supply Department at the War Office. He is now engaged in a forest in South Devon. Mr and Mrs R. A. Montgomerie, of "Taukoro," Papapara Road, with their two daughters [incl. the Misses W. and A. Montgomerie], who were engaged in war work in England for the four past years, are returning to the Dominion by the Ruahine, due at Auckland about Monday next, 22nd inst. Their two sons [Lieutenants R. Oswald Montgomerie and H. Seton Montgomerie] are remaining in England, but will return to New Zealand as soon as they are released from the Royal Air Force.
