The funeral of the late Mr Alexander Montgomerie, which took place yesterday afternoon, was very largely attended, the last sad rites being conducted by the Rev. E. T. Wynne Bond. The deceased gentleman's death, which occurred suddenly on Thursday night last, came as a great shock to his many friends throughout the district, as he was apparently in the best of health. He leaves a widow and a young family, to whom, with his other relatives, we extend our sincere sympathy. (Wanganui Herald, May 29, 1905)
