"Henry A Tolan, 72, formerly of Centerville, died Monday evening in Corry Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born Oct 17, 1894, in Burke, NY, the son of Joseph and Mary Johnson Tolan. On Dec 25, 1918, he married Maude Stewart. Mr Tolan built and operated a feed mill in Centerville and later operated a Pennzoil station and gift shop. After he retired, he and Mrs Tolan lived in New Port Richey, Fla, for nine years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters - Mrs Cameron (Geraldine) Blakeslee of Spartansburg and Mrs Kenneth (Shirley) Fullom of Camp Hill; two sons - Francis Tolan of Doylestown and Stewart Tolan of Salisbury, Md; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Tolan of Hilldale, Mich; and two sisters - Mrs L W (Sara) Shonyo of Malone, NY, and Mrs Marion Anderson of Titusville. Friends may call at the H Richard Hays Funeral Home in Spartansburg...and attend the funeral service there at 2 pm Thursday with Rev H Lewis Hewitt, pastor of the Spartansburg Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery at Centerville."
