Harry was born in August 1894 in the Dutch truck farmers settlement South Holland, just south of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, the first son of Nicholas Koedyker and Gertie alias Gertrude Gouwens, named for his grandfather Hark alias Harry Koedijker.

In June 1900 Harry (4 y), his father Nick Koedyker (28 [ must be: 32]), his wife Gertia 29, his siblings Mary (9), Cora (7), ), Hattie (3) and Clara (2) lived in Thornton [Township], Cook County, Illinois, just south of Chicago.

In 1910 Harry N (15), his father Nick H Koedyker (42), his mother Gertie H (38), his siblings Mary M (18), Cora (16), Henrietta (13), Clara (10), Mabel G (6), Edith (3) and his paternal grandmother Martie H Koedyker (66) lived still in Thornton [Township], Cook County, Illinois.

On 5 June 1917 Harry Koedyker (22) lived in South Holland and was employed by the Principal Thornton school and also by the Cook Co garden Club , when he was administrated at Harvey on a World War I Draft Registration Card.

Harry Koedyker married on 1 May 1919 in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois to the also 24 years aged Nellie Olthoff, who had Dutch parents too.

They had a son, Calvin, who was born in 1924 in South Holland, and a daughter, Winnette, born about 1928.

In 1930 Harry Koedyker (35), his wife Nellie (35), their son Calvin (6, Illinois) and their daughter Winnette (1, Illinois) lived in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

In 1942 Harry (47 y) and his wife Nellie Koedyker lived at Normal Ave, south Chicago and he was a teacher at Fenger High School, Wallace St, south Chicago, when Harry was administrated on a World War II Draft Registration Card.

Harry Koedyker died in April 1975 at a hospital at Harvey, a city south of Chicago, Illinois at the age of 80 years. His widow Nellie died in February 1985 in South Holland at the age of about 90 years.

Harry Koedyker of South Holland, died at Ingalis Memorial hospital, Harvey. A member of Calvary Reformed church, he was born Aug. 5, 1894 and a teacher for many years. A former principal of Walcott Grammar school in Thornton, he taught 22 years at Fenger High school, Tilden Tech and Wendall Phillips High schools in Chicago; and nine years at Thornton Township and Thornridge High schools.

Surviving are his wife Nellie; one daughter, Mrs. Winnette (Glen) Ottoson of Northbrook; his son, Dr. Calvin (Florence) Koedyker of South Holland; two sisters, Rika Boosma and Mrs. James Paarlberg, both of South Holland and five grandchildren.

The Rev. Rodger Dalman officiated at the March 25 services at Calvary Reformed church with interment in Oak Ridge cemetery. Arrangements wereby DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral home, South Holland.
