"Rev Bennett preached the sermon at the funeral of Herbert Huffman at Old Town Chapel Thursday afternoon. The young man was 21 years, 10 months, and nine days of age. The circumstances were such as to appeal to the sympathy of those present. The day was extremely cold, but the friends and neighbors spared no pains in caring for the bereft family. Rev. Bennett's words of comfort and consolation were very much appreciated. Herbert was the oldest of nine children. The body was laid away in the Barnes Cemetery south of the Chapel."
