Edward A. Huffman Sr., 63, of 1921 S. Olive St., died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He worked at Studebaker Corp. for 23 years.
He was also employed at Cummins Diesel Foundry and later as a dispatcher for Buds Wrecker Service.
Born March 14, 1920, in Colfax, Ill., he lived in South Bend since 1947, coming from Colfax. His first wife, the former Clara Shephard, preceded him in death.
He then married Julia Huffman who died in 1975.
His wife, Betty Huffman, survives with three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Merrill of South Bend, and Mrs. Donna Neal and Mrs. Betty Casner both of Bloomington, Ill; a son, Edward A Jr of Bloomington; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lois Turner of Hennepin, 111., and Mrs. Jean Katy of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Nell Ratliff of Normal, Ill.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Rev. Roy Herbster, pastor of Lakeville Christian Church of which he was a member, will officiate.
Cremation will be in Riverview Crematory with interment at Hudson Cemetery, Hudson, 111. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
