Some records indicate Mattie was born about 7 years later than the date on her death certificate used here. Daughter of Nathan and Jane (Highsmith) Kerr. Nathan Carr and Jane Highsmith were married on April 7, 1869 in New Hanover County, North Carolina. Both Nathan and Jane appear to have died after 1900.
