He was born May 21, 1942 in Cato, son of the late Erwin and Emily (Pingel) Wiegert. Ronald attended Valders High School, graduating with the class of 1960. On September 1, 1962 he married Carole A. Weina at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Ronald was employed with Weyerhaeuser Company for 45 years. He enjoyed working in his flower beds and garden, going on trips to New York to visit his son, and was an avid fisherman, especially at Schisel's Lake. He was also an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers. In earlier years, Ron enjoyed listening to the Milwaukee Braves and kept a scrapbook of the team.
Survivors include his wife: Carole Wiegert, Manitowoc; his son: Jeffrey Wiegert and his girlfriend: Troika Newson, Kingston, New York; his daughter: Julie Wiegert and her boyfriend: Roemel Brown; two sisters-in-law: Doris Wiegert and Caryl Wiegert, both of Manitowoc; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Janice & Eugene Hartman, Manitowoc; and one sister-in-law: Janet Kraemer, Newton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; two brothers: Gary and Darrell Wiegert; two sisters and brother-in-law: Gloria Kopidlansky and Judith & Bradley Wrolson; and two brothers-in-law: Tom Heyduk and Marvin Kraemer.
Cremation has occurred at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and per Ronald's wishes, no services will be held. Inurnment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
