My mother took a picture of Catherine's tombstone when she visited Sioux Falls, SD in about 1990. Tombstone reads: Catherine/ Wife of/ P.A. Haffey/ Died/ Mar. 21, 1883/ Aged 32 Years. She met and married Patrick Ambrose Haffey, who was from the same county in Ireland, and who had arrived in America in 1853. Patrick and Catherine married about 1874, presumably in Minnesota. They had six children, and Catherine died, in 1883, a few months after the birth of the sixth child. Catherine was the daughter of Thomas McCarvel and Anne Leonard. Her parents remained in Ireland and are buried at St. Livinius Church Cemetery in Killeevan, County Monaghan, Ireland.
